How many people does a meeting pod hold?

Meeting pods are available in 2–3 person, 4 person, and 6–8 person configurations. The right size depends on your typical meeting group and the available floor space. A 4-person pod in our range has an external footprint of around 2.8m x 2m; a 6–8 person pod is around 4m x 2.4m. We'll size the pod against your floor plan on the site visit.

Do meeting pods need planning permission?

No. Meeting pods are furniture, not permanent structures. They require no planning permission and create no material change to the building.

What are soundproof meeting pods?

Soundproof meeting pods are self-contained acoustic structures designed for open-plan offices. The term soundproof is commonly used but the correct description is sound-attenuating — they reduce noise transmission to the point where conversation inside is inaudible outside, rather than eliminating all sound entirely. The pods we supply are independently tested to ISO 23351-1:2020 and rated Class A or Class B depending on the model.

What acoustic standard should a meeting pod achieve?

ISO 23351-1:2020 is the relevant standard, measuring Speech Level Reduction in decibels. Class B (28–29 dB) is adequate for general team use in a standard open plan. Class A (30 dB and above) is appropriate for confidential meetings, board conversations, client briefings, or any regulated sector. Always ask for the specific dB figure and confirm it was tested as a complete assembled pod, not just on wall panels.

How much ventilation does a meeting pod need?

A minimum of 20–30 m3/h of fresh air per person. For a four-person pod, that means at least 80–120 m3/h. The practical result is that you can run a meeting for an hour without it becoming uncomfortable.

What are office meeting pods?

Office meeting pods are freestanding enclosed acoustic rooms that sit within an open-plan office without any building work. They plug into a standard socket, require no planning permission, and install in a single day. They are used where there are not enough enclosed meeting spaces for the number of people who need them — which is most offices.
